Liverpool Photography Workshop at 50mm and only f1.8!!!
I’ve been considering running a Liverpool Landscape Photography Workshop for some time, and I thought… what better way to run a test of the idea by having a stroll around the waterfront area, but with a ‘twist’
The ‘twist’ I chose being to ONLY use a 50mm lens and to then ONLY use an aperture of f1.8
Why so restrictive?
Well, for one it really makes you ‘see’ better
Often, its all too easy (and potentially confusing) to turn up to a location that offers a vast array of photo options with everything from a wide-angle to a long telephoto, and yet still struggle to ‘see’ an image
Sometimes, being able to shoot literally anything can get in the way of shooting anything at all - as it can in fact stifle creativity
So here’s what I shot, in the order I shot them. I’ve included everything I felt qualified as a Keeper, and by keeping them in order too you can follow my journey around Liverpool’s waterfront and follow my seeing & thought processes too
Chances are, some you think… that’s daft / crap / WTF but I’d hope there’s a few where you think more of a… I’d not have thought of that, or, that’s cool
So have a look and let me know what you think :)
