HEYSHAM - RHS Britain in Bloom 2025 - theme "Dogs & Gardening"

Something VERY different from me, but great fun too

HEYSHAM - RHS Britain in Bloom 2025 - theme "Dogs & Gardening"

Yesterday I was invited to photograph the village of Heysham (near Morecambe on the north-west coast) as its entry into the 'North West in Bloom' competition, and what a delight :)

The designers, gardeners, helpers, etc. had obviously been out in force (and still were ahead of the Judges!) erecting new & interesting features too; and even the flowers turned their heads to help with stunning floral displays everywhere

I've presented my photos in the style of a Photo Album (so yes, this could be printed), and in the collective order of... High Street, Central Area, Hidden Garden, Glebe Garden and the Eco Garden - I hope I didn't miss anywhere!

All shot on a Nikon Z6ii & 24-70mm f2.8 lens and ALL at f2.8 as a means of using a shallow DoF to direct the viewer's eye

As I shot well over 150 ‘Keepers’ I decided the best way to present them is as if prepared for a printable Photo Album, so here’s my take on a stunning wee village all ready to being Judged for the comp

GOOD LUCK HEYSHAM
